Starting 1 July 2016, all employers must pay their employees’ super contributions electronically. This includes smaller employers with less than 20 employees.
What does this mean?
You’ll need to be using a system to pay your employee’s superannuation contributions that is SuperStream compliant.
One way to do to this is to register with a clearing house so that you can administer your superannuation payment process in one streamlined transaction each month.
If you’re not sure if you need to do anything, call our friendly customer service team on 1300 788 658 or speak to your finance department.
How can Good Super help?
Good Super is pleased to provide you access to a complimentary clearing house in conjunction with SuperChoice, which helps you meet this requirement. SuperChoice is an ATO accredited gateway operator.
Access to SuperChoice’s clearing house is free, safe, and compliant with the new laws.
All you need to do is to call our friendly customer service officers on 1300 788 658 so we can get your organisation set up. Before you call, please make sure you’ve read and understood the Product Disclosure Statement.
Once you’re set up, you’ll be able to make the transition to making electronic super payments for your employees. We’re only a phone call away if you need any help.
How does it work?
Once you register, you’ll be able to contribute to multiple employee super funds in one, streamlined transaction.
There are a few ways of using a clearing house. Some accounting software creates a file which you’ll be able to upload directly, and which will pre-populate your employees’ superannuation contributions.
For smaller organisations, you can create entries for each of your employees with their nominated fund and relevant SG amount.
We’ll provide you with a how-to guide that explains how to use our clearing house once we set you up.
Using this clearing house is simple, reliable, and will save your business valuable time.
Good Super’s clearing house facility with SuperChoice is available to any employers who have at least one Good Super member. Similarly to other clearing house suppliers, SuperChoice also enables you to make contributions to other superannuation funds for your employees who are not members of Good Super.
Of course, feel free to use any other clearing house facility – Good Super accepts contributions made through other clearing houses.
Can I keep using my current system?
Since 15 July 2015 we have been offering a clearing house, as well as continuing to allow employers to make contributions using our existing method.
However, on 1 March 2017, we only accept contributions via superstreame complaint methods. Sign up now to our clearing house to streamline your contributions and make sure you’re complying with the new law.
Need to know more?
As always, contact our friendly customer service team on 1300 788 658 and we’ll be happy to assist you through the process.
